We've only just begun

So, the season opener in now behind us. A somewhat mixed side travelled to Great Tew's picture postcard ground on a day that was perfect for cricket. Shorn of 4 players who turned out for the County we stood toe to toe with a confident side, 4 divisions above us. 

We lost, but take real confidence into our first league game in 3 weeks. Stand out performances were  Shaun Burningham's fielding, Jose's catch, 3 catches for Ross Fryatt behind the stumps and an excellent spell of 9 overs from Jordan Morrison; bowling with control and variety, collecting 3 for 36. We lost wickets regularly with only real resistance offered by Matt Jones who top scored with 32. A fine cameo effort at the end from Dan Alderson, who, had he found gaps rather than fielders could have scored a fifty. He was well supported by Jordan and they had Tew worried for a while.

Look out for details of the Interclub game on 2nd May, an opportunity to play at the Field of Dreams with and against the finest cricket talent in Didcot. We will have a BBQ running from mid afternoon and the bar will be open early.
